Phalaenopsis Orchids

If I had a pound for every time i had been asked how to look after a Phalaenopsis Orchid plant, I could have retired to the South of France by now. Despite being one of our best sellers for many many years, and despite each plant carrying a care card (which always seems to be eaten by some magical label eater), this is especially for you if you have just bought one of these plants.

Water sparingly (half a cup of water once a week), but more if the flowers look floppy.

Keep in light but not sunlight

Keep between 18-22 centigrade.

Once it has flowered, cut back stem to the second node up from the base.

Do not try and cover the grey roots - they like daylight.

Do not repot in soil- they like bark.

That's it ! The recipe to  successful Phalaenopsis growing. If however, your plant has suffered too much care or water, we have some beautiful white  3 stem exapmles in our castle street branch at the moment. £19.99 each including the pot, but mention this blog and you can have one for £15 !
